Live Your Dream Award

The Live Your Dream Awards assist women with primary financial responsibility for their families to obtain the skills training and education necessary to improve their employment status and standard of living. Each year, more than 1,500 women receive more than $1.5 million for their education and training globally. And the program works. In surveys of region award recipients three years after receiving their awards:

  • 97% reported an increase in self-esteem and self confidence
  • 80% reported an improved standard of living for themselves and their dependents
  • 69% reported earning an educational degree/certification
  • Soroptimist International of Vancouver – Women’s Opportunity Awards (WOA)
  • 54% reported securing higher-paid employment.

Anne Grierson Award

The Anne Grierson Award 2014-2015 recognizes young women between ages 14 and 17 who make the community and world a better place through volunteer efforts such as: fighting drugs, crime and violence, cleaning up the environment, working to end discrimination and poverty, and more. Volunteer actions that benefit women or girls are especially valued.

Helen McCrae Award

The Helen McCrae Award is a programme of Soroptimist International of Vancouver, B.C. in memory of Soroptimist Helen McCrae, former Dean of Women at the University of British Columbia, who was a strong advocate for women’s education. The applicants must have achieved a minimum 3.0 grade-point average in the Nursing Programme and have demonstrated leadership skills and a strong ability to put theory into practice.
